Jon Yuan is a strategic communications and public affairs professional with more than 10 years of experience in earned media, paid and digital strategy, and executive communications. As a Vice President at Rational, he leads day-to-day strategy for major corporate and trade association clients across telecommunications, consumer goods, technology, and healthcare to set direction across earned, paid, owned, and digital channels. He also plays a lead role on the Company’s business development and proposals team.
Before joining Rational, Jon was part of POLITICO’s in-house communications team, where he coordinated 100+ national television and radio placements each month for the newsroom and supported the outlet’s crisis communications response when its journalists came under attack. He began his career at the Bipartisan Policy Center and also spent time at SKDK, drafting speeches and op-eds for clients across financial services, healthcare, education, and nonprofit sectors. Jon holds a Master of Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and China & Asia-Pacific Studies from Cornell University.
